Sources indicating 3000 BC(e.g.[1]) seem quite suspect. For instance, they also cite it being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which it isn't. The Medes, according to wikipedia, anyway, aren't even known of until about 900 BC. Possibly this is due to confusion in regards to Christian dates by Muslim writers? I think 3000 years old seems to be a reasonable interpretation of what is meant, so that is what I will put in the edit. Hopefully, someone who knows a little more about this can check up on it. --Marm(t)
- It isnt that off if you consider the Jiroft civilization which was flourishing in the region.--Zereshk 14:59, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
